HOW DO YOU CELEBRATE HOLI?
In our town we celebrate Holi in a most interesting way, we put all the colors in a bucket big bucket or drum and then pour that water colors on each others, and we also prepare the water balloons and filled it with water colors and throw it on each others.
Actually Holi word originates from Holika and it is an ancient Hindu religious festivaland every year it falls on the full moon day. Do you know why it is celebrated?
Because once there was a demon king Hirnakashyap, he was so arrogant and he did a rigorous penance. He had a son named Prahalad but his son was a devotee of Lord Vishnu. So it made Hiranakashyap furious and he thought about his sister Holika, Holika had a boon not to burn in the fire, so he called Holika, but by the grace of Lord Vishnu Holika brunt and Prahalad survived.
So from that day this incident was started to celebrate as a Holi festival. And it is the symbol fo victory over evil. It also reflects the divine love of Radha and Krishna.

So I and my friends are very much excited for the festival. Before the festival arrives we all go for Holi shopping and we buy water guns, water colors and water balloons. On the day of Holi we all get up very early in the morning and go the bonfire then we take some rounds of the bonfire and after that we come back home and apply some oils on our body so later we can remove the colors from our body and easily. And after that we start playing Holi by applying the colors on each other's face. By this way we have lots of fun. We also go to our neighbors house and then we meet them and play the Holi with them also and we have some sweets and Ghujiya. My mom also prepares the Ghujiya and so many other delicious dishes and chips. We also drink a special drink called Thandai.
Then at the lunch time we come back to our homes and wash up ourselves then we take rest.
But Holi also has many disadvantages, because lots of water are wasted while the celebration of Holi and for removing colors. And these days there are chemical mixed in the colors for a permanent marks, some people who have the skin infections they can get an allergy. so the best way to celebrate Holi will be, waste at least of water while playing Holi and use organic colors and also apply the colors on the face only not in the eyes or near to the eyes. I hope that you use organic colors in this Holi and I also wish you a very colorful and happy Holi.
